NURTURE NATURE FOUNDATION PARTICIPATES IN CLIMATE JUSTICE CONFERENCE The Executive Director of NNF, Peter Asiedu attended a 2-day Climate Justice Conference organized by the Eco-Africa Network. Climate justice is a pressing global issue that recognizes the disproportionate impact of climate change on vulnerable populations, particularly those in developing nations. Climate-related challenges have stripped people of their livelihoods, leading to displacement of people. As climate challenges intensify, legal and policy frameworks must evolve to ensure equity, fairness, and accountability in addressing environmental and energy transition concerns. The Climate Justice Conference 2025 brought together key stakeholders, including policymakers, legal experts, academics, and young people, to explore legal solutions, policy innovations, and community-driven approaches to climate justice. The conference served as a platform that engaged the legal community, promoted youth involvement, and initiated collective action towards a just and sustainable future. The key note address was given by Mrs. Samira Bawumia , the former second Lady and the Founder and Chair of African Women and Children Conference(AFRIWOCC). In her address, she hinted that only 1% out of the 1.7trillion USD expended globally in 2023 on clean energy went to women-led organizations. She stressed the need for Africa to take action now because with 70% of her global population accounting for only 4% of global carbon emission, it not acceptable to experience some of the harshest consequences , including drought, food insecurity , and displacement .The Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability was represented by the technical director, Cedric Dzelu. He mentioned the relevance of backing climate and sustainability decisions with data. The Dean of GIMPA law school Dr.Kweku Agyeman Budu stressed the severe and growing threats climate change poses to Ghana’s environment, economy and social fabric and also hinted that the Institution has planned to introduce new climate law and policy at both LLB and LLM levels with support from the Government. @sbawumia #nnf #climate #climateemergency ...
