Rotary and Sunshine Healthcare Lead Life Saving Cervical Cancer Screening for Local Women

Women supported by Nurture Nature Foundation (NNF) have benefited from a cervical cancer screening initiative led by the Rotary Club of Accra Premier International in partnership with Sunshine Healthcare Ltd. The programme took place at the Airport Accra and focused on making early detection services more accessible to local communities.

Rotary Club of Accra Premier International demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to women’s health by sponsoring and personally supporting the participation of beneficiaries. Rotary members engaged warmly with participants, ensuring a welcoming environment that encouraged openness and reduced fear often associated with screening.

Sunshine Healthcare provided the clinical expertise required for the exercise. Their medical professionals screened women with care, explained cervical cancer prevention, and answered questions relating to reproductive health. Their work ensured that the screening process remained respectful, confidential, and informative.

NNF served as a beneficiary organisation whose members were selected to take part in the life-changing exercise. Many of the women screened experienced cervical cancer testing for the first time. They expressed gratitude for the professional guidance and the opportunity to learn the value of early diagnosis in preventing advanced disease.

The screening fostered stronger community confidence in preventive healthcare and offered women the knowledge and encouragement needed to prioritise their wellbeing. It also emphasised the positive impact that collaboration between humanitarian and health organisations can have on vulnerable populations.

NNF acknowledges the combined efforts of the Rotary Club and Sunshine Healthcare in empowering women through access to essential health services. This initiative highlights the importance of continuous community support in the fight against cervical cancer.
